Choco Flakes in Baguio City - Philippines

From the title itself, it already is mouth watering. What more if you actually have it in front of you, in your hands… better yet, in your mouth. You will not just say that it “sounds” delicious but it definitely is.

Choco flakes are one of the “goodies” you bring home for your family and friends if you just visited Baguio City. For foreign tourists, it is called a “pasalubong”. Or maybe you just bought it for yourself.

They are packed on plastic containers, in different sizes, and you can choose if you want either the plain one, that is pure chocolate or the assorted one which is a combination of dark chocolate and milk chocolate. Either way, both are delicious.

Choco flakes are cornflakes dipped in either dark chocolate or milk chocolate. After dipping, they are allowed to dry / harden. That is why when you eat it, it is very crunchy.

When you visit Baguio you can find a good deal of choco flakes behind the Maharlika building or at the market itself (both are located at lower Session Road). There is an array of choco flakes there, aside from other goods also. You can feast your eyes on it.

Choco flakes are not only confined to one place. As you go on visiting different tourist spots in Baguio, you can also find choco flakes. Other areas where you can find them is at Mines View Park, SM Mall (they have stalls there), and even in terminals, just to make sure you don’t forget. At the Victory liner terminal, aside from the ticketing booth, the second floor has different stalls where different things are being sold. There are souvenir items, different types of jams, and most importantly, there are choco flakes.

There are also different brands of choco flakes available. But the most well known and the one that provides the assortment is Mikasan.

The price, for the big ones is around 75 pesos (P75.00). And it is all worth it.

And so just in case you decide to come and visit Baguio City, try one of these. Of course aside from visiting special places here, you must not forget and try choco flakes. And just in case you forget, do not fret, most often than not, you can see these choco thing being sold just beside the terminal. Remember, before stepping that foot into the bus, think again if you have in your hand that “chocolatey” flake.
