Baguio is not only known for its climate but also for its attractions and services. That is why many tourists can be expected visiting the place.

The questions then that come to mind to every tourist are “How do I get to Baguio?”, “Is it a small place or a large place?”, “What if I don’t have a private vehicle with me?”, and “What are the common means of transportation available in the city?”

These are mostly common concerns that may arise. But worry not. Let us talk about the different means of transportation available here.

The total land area of Baguio City is 49 square kilometers. If you are thinking of walking through all these famously visited spots in Baguio, it may not be advisable.

Transportation available here are jeepneys and taxis. But if you bring along a car with you then feel free exploring the place.

A jeepney is a very common means of transportation. Most of them, wherever you are will pass through the main city if not near. Average fare for regulars right now is 8.50 pesos (P8.50). Senior citizens as well as students pay 6.50 pesos (P6.50).

The taxi is another means of transportation. Taxis are very common here also and they are very helpful especially if you are new to Baguio and you do not know your way around the city.

They are available 24/7 (taxis). Some of them are parked on bus terminals, especially in the new Victory Liner terminal where they await passengers arriving from the lowlands.

Plug down rate is 25 pesos (P25.00). But with the oil increase you have to pay the actual fare plus an additional 10 pesos (P10.00). As of now, not all taxis have upgraded to this level so make sure you look for the sticker in front (window shield) indicating that the taxi you are in has the authority to ask for that additional 10 pesos.

It will make your life much easier and you get to focus more on the good side. You get to have fun while on vacation.
