A night’s stay at this classy mountain lodge costs around $75 or something like Php 3375 a night per room, inclusive of nice, warm, and spacious room and bed, a nice toilet and bath with hot and cold shower fixtures, cable TV, landline, and free breakfast. We cannot ignore mentioning the restaurant of South Drive Manor, Baguio, with its ample and huge glass window panels to capture the beauty of the woods and city outside, plus the superb cuisines served: Filipino Korean, Italian, and American. The lobby has homey features with soft, dark colored sofas contrasting the light toned walls. In addition, the friendly and responsive hotel staff makes us feel at home.

Though out there in the mountains and hidden by sprawling gargantuan pine trees, South Drive Manor, Baguio is nonetheless easily reached from the city proper. From Session Road in a cab we can get to it in a mere 10 minutes or less. It is also accessible to the city market, SM Pines Hotel, Maharlika Livelihood Complex, Burnham Park, Sunshine Garden, among others in within the city square.

Public jeepneys are also available, specially those plying routes to the Philippine Military Academy and Camp John Hay. Other tourist sites near South Drive Manor, Baguio are Mines View Park, Wright Park, and Mansion House. With this hotel, we get class, a bit of privacy, and access.

The City of Pines doesn’t feel like it in most lodging venues, but South Drive Manor, Baguio gives us an authentic feel of a Pines City, and more.
